Our patented algorithm takes in all the data from the sensors and determines with great accuracy any time you're slowing down, no matter how. (Engine braking, downshifting, and regular braking)

Short answer, 8-12 hours on average. The longer answer is, the battery life depends on the type of riding you're doing, the mode you select, and the weather conditions. Brake Free has been known to last for 14+ hours in Stealth Mode on long-distance rides.

Wouldn’t ride without it anymore
As one of the very first owners (backer on indigogo) of a „Storm Tooper“ Brake Free Unit in Germany, a did quite a bit of Kilometers with it. Besides of some moisture on the inner side of the lens after a 8 hour ride in heavy rain once and yellowish discoloration of the white frame top layer (using my bike at least 8 month a year) after all the years in use, there‘s nothing bad to report so far. After plenty of recharging cycles, the battery still lasts the same amount of operating hours, like it had from the beginning.
Frankly spoken, this safety device is worth every cent! Especially riding in Autumn and Spring with lots of fog surrounding you, the brightness of the Brake Free LEDs gives me a much better feeling to be seen by all the others on the road.

You CAN see me now, can't you?
My Can-Am riding brother bought one of these years ago and I was extremely impressed by the visibility of the "Brake Free" device.
When they produced the white one, it matched my helmet perfectly, so I bought one. I feel that it adds to the reductions of rear end collisions. (No one wants a 2000 lb. enema) The more visibility, the odds of others seeing you are greatly increased.
Just like any other brake lights, they are good during the daylight hours but at night and in low light conditions, the "Brake Free" is indispensable.

Excellent product, featured in STAReview Magazine. I am the product test editor. It provides enhanced visibility to other riders and drivers whether you are riding or stopped. The various modes gives you many options. Remember Visibility is survivability. I am also the safety editor, and we lose motorcycles too many times to the I Did Not See The Motorcycle Syndrome.

Rode 2k with my ride free
I didn't own a motorcycle for ten years, so when I bought one last February, I ordered a brake free right away. I really love it since I'm constantly trying to be more visible. I even added a high vis reflector over the logo (sorry 😬). Just bought a new helmet for 2025 so may need a black version to go with the new lid. I do wish it was a little brighter during the day, which is the only reason I gave four stars as opposed to five.

Brake Free use report after 1000 miles
I have used the Brake Free light for over 1000 miles and it last about 10 hours of continuous operation. Everyone tells me that it is very visible and activates ( gets brighter) with the smallest of deceleration or acceleration. I have the older version with the more recessed button and the more I use it the easier it is to press, it has not been an issue albeit from what I hear the newer version makes accessing the control button easier. Great product. Luis
