Brake Free vs. Integrated Lights: Part 2

Brake Free vs. Integrated Lights: Part 2

Last week, we did a brief overview of the difference between a Brake Free and a lid with integrated lights—and this week, we’re going a little bit deeper into those differences.

Sharing Battery Life Vs. a Standalone Unit

When you have an all-in-one helmet with comms, lights, and whatever else you’d want—you’re sharing battery life among all of those peripherals.

Sure, the integrated lighting system can last up to 12 hours… if that’s the only thing you’re powering.

With a standalone unit, like Brake Free, you depend on the battery life provided to a single piece of equipment. So, yes: you do need to charge everything separately.

But with that comes more peace of mind knowing that all of your equipment is getting the longest usage out of a single charge, rather than having to pick and choose between peripherals to increase battery life for a particular feature on an integrated helmet.

So why pick between visibility and safety and other tech when the best option is to be able to use everything you need at the same time?

Replacing an entire helmet vs different accessories

Things happen—you (hopefully won’t) can get into an accident, you can drop your helmet, somebody steals your lid when you popped into your house for two seconds and left it on your bike.

Barring a situation where your entire helmet is stolen or misplaced and you need to replace everything—it’s much easier to replace a single issue rather than everything, all at once.

In the unfortunate case of an accident, it’s likely that your Brake Free will survive. They’re tough, they’re built to take a beating. So if you do need to replace your helmet, your Brake Free can make it through.

Additionally, we’d like to highlight the ease of switching between helmets once again. If you have a dual sport, for example: one standalone unit between both helmets makes for a quick, seamless switch.

If you buy two helmets with all the farkles included and something goes wrong—you’re still replacing helmets. With a Brake Free, you can pop it on and off and swap between helmets, and should one need to be replaced: your Brake Free unit stays with you.

All-in-One Vs. Feature Specific Gadgets

Like we discussed in our last post, feature-specific tech is higher quality than all in one solutions.

For example—an integrated camera isn’t going to give you the range of features an Insta360 would. An integrated camera is built to meet requirements, whereas an Insta360 is built to exceed requirements and deliver top-of-the-line performance

That logic applies to integrated lights vs. a Brake Free as well.

Not only does a Brake Free have 100 ultra-bright LEDs for maximum visibility, but with our patented technology that detects engine braking, regular braking, and emergency braking—slowing down of any kind—our tech far outweighs integrated competition. Most integrated lights only offer a minimal amount of visibility packed into a helmet, and often those types of units don’t have the capability to detect changes in movement. And if they do, they aren’t nearly as fast or effective as ours, and we stand by that.

Once again, the choice is clear.

Why settle for sub-par LEDs and diminished battery life when you can have a single piece of tech that exceeds the bare minimum to make you stand out and be seen?

Your Brake Free unit is waiting to meet your helmet and get out and ride. Order yours today.
